The sushi was quite fresh and much to choose on the menu. The staff was very friendly! Good sushi and decent price for the Bay Area.

Teriyaki first looked a bit strange, but turned out to be surprisingly delicious! It looks dark because it's stolen. A negative thing was that they don't give you shrimp with your tempura in Bento?

I ordered lunch take out from Amakai. The food is really good, and not very expensive. I ordered beef teriyaki bento. The taste of the teriyaki sauce is little bit sweet. Beef is grilled just about the right time not too chewy and not too raw). The rice is Japanese rice, I like it! Gyoza is deep fried, so it?s crispy outside. Miso soup is as expected. I would come back again and try sashimi or roll on my next visit.

From the NYC-NJ area and this place is up there with probably one of the freshest sushi that I've ever had. The only downside was that they were short staffed and had to wait a bit. There were signs all over the restaurant informing of the staff shortage and to expect longer than normal wait times. They handled what they could during the lunch hour rush. Pretty good sushi. Would come back here again when I come back to the area.

Literally the best sushi and hospitality? we Love it here and each lunch and dinner when we?re visiting Santa Clara!! ???? They?re so nice and friendly. We love it and you should definitely try the sushi. Miso soup is perfect ?
