I've been in the Winona area for 22 years and that was my first visit. wow! absolutely loved. great food. sara, you did better. Thank you. I'm back.

very impressed by everything on this location. convenient and entertaining atmosphere, service was very polite and fast. eating was amazing and very cheap. I recommend trying this place when traveling through or in winona mn.

there was a little before 9:00 a.m. on a Tuesday night and ordered the big blt that was a lot speck, but was just a kind of bland. another person with whom I ordered a steak that came with a side salad and on the side salat was tomaten and one of the tomaten had mold on it. only hope they often check their products in their coolers before they serve bad food to customers. never again. the food was disappointing and so was the service.

This will be one of the most difficult posts we've done.Last night we were in Winona Minnesota and after looking at several restaurants we landed on Back Horse. The menu looked great with lots of good choices and the reviews said the food was excellent.So here we go.Upon arrival we were greeted and seated by friendly staff. While most locally owned restaurants in this part of the country seem to mostly bar, this one also has a nice dining area.Our server was a young lady who had not been there but a couple of days but she was vibrant and helpful.One Wednesday special was 75 wings and that's what I got. I have mine done without the sauce and then dip them so I get the amount of sauce I want. When they arrived they were large and meaty having been cooked just right. Thoroughly enjoyed them.Diane had the Walleyed fish sandwich with homemade chips. The amount of fish was perfect and the fish had the most wonderful flavor. No fishy taste at all. It was really good. The chips were seasoned and mostly crisp. Another winner.So we've enjoyed our service, and our meal and we're ready to write a glowing review when it went south really fast.A woman came by with some papers and wanted to know if we would like to pay dirty bingo' starting at 8pm. She then went on to oppologize and say she tries make sure the kids are gone because she has kids too and wouldn't want them there.She proceeded to the bar area, were the people who wanted to play (mostly barely leagal drinkers) lwere located, and get on a microphone and describe the game. Needless to say it was about using the most filthy words you could come up with or faking a sexual experience, lets say. They were giving away sex toys as the prizes.Class, decency, and recommendations right out the window. Thankfuly we were done and leaving. You want to recommend this place for the food but I could not in good conscience support a public restaurant that thinks somehow this is the way they want to make an impact on their town and community.There's a lot more I would like to say but I'll leave that on my personal post.NO RECOMMENDATION. TWO THUMBS DOWN ??

Went for breakfast, (Party of 4, we were the first ones there, around 9:15 I ordered the loaded skillet, w/over easy eggs. Food was average at best. My only real complaint was how greasy the toast was, and that the meals are advertised as being served with hash browns (but came with breakfast potatoes instead) Overall I wasn't overly impressed- especially for the price point. The wait time for food was quite long (about 45 mins) considering how few people were there. But service was good (we sat at the bar) the bartender was very friendly and attentive.

Beautiful and cozy atmosphere. Enjoyed the staff..made you feel very welcome...Great drinks...the food is beyond 5 stars...Great presentation and the quality and quantity of the food....is beyond belief... 1st time there... we will make special trips just to enjoy the food...and atmosphere..

First time visiting and I was really impressed with the food and the Awesome Customer Service of our server?. I am looking forward to going there again!!
