cafe pyrenees has an excellent selection of foods (fish, vegetarian, meat) on Tuesday it was there and very enjoyed its pri-fix menu, the salad/appetizer, deree and dessert. also a large selection of wine choices.
Each of our selections was very good. The value here can be better than others around town. Wine prices are reasonable. Need to hit the reservation time more accurately.
The overall food selection was good. Escargot was pretty good, but the appetizer of the day (mushroom/cheese) was just ok. Some of the dishes on the menu were pretty good (hanger steak and beef bourguignon). However, vegetable risotto was the consistency of an oatmeal with large chunks of flavorless vegetables.
I didn’t give it more stars because the service was extremely slow. A number of times, it felt like we were completely forgotten by our waiter. Have been there many times before and it has not happened. Don’t know why that particular evening.
