Atmosphere was amazing and the service enjoyable. We liked the baked Hawaiian dessert. Unfortunately the entree of sea bass, you literally had to cut with a knife and the texture was that of a well done steak to chew. The Kona Kampachi and prongs were acceptable. Our server John and his new assistant, along with the stunning view, made the evening!!

Cane Canoe is fantastic. Usually the restaurant is pretty quiet, just an FYI, as it seems to primarily cater to guests of the Montage. The experience, however, is worth the trip. We had Octopus, Lobster Mac, Fish of the Moment (Hawaiian Sea Bass) and the Kanpachi Shrimp and all were great. Sea Bass Octopus stole the show. Lobster Mac was good, but I couldâve had tow orders of the Octopus as a main and been good. Drinks were solid, Espresso Martini was very good! Nice wine list too. John, our server, made it all work flawlessly. Not gonna lie, your wallet will feel lighter, but itâs one of the best meals weâve ever had. We visit every time when in Maui. Enjoy!
I know the Covid thing, but seriously! With the exception of the lobster Mac Cheese (excellent), our food was marginal. Service ambiance was excellent Everything was spicy hot and underwhelming. Sorry, but true!
We were glad to see Cane and Cane has reopened for dinner. They have a course Prix Fixe for quite expensive! Thankfully the food and service were terrific! Our server, Mark, did a great job. My husband ordered a Caesar salad (very fresh, and yummy Parmesan crisp) and the Filet. The Filet had great flavor and was perfectly cooked. I had the lobster mac and cheese and the Mahi fresh catch. The mac and cheese also comes in gluten free! It is fantastic, full of great cheese flavor and tons of lobster!! Delicious! The Mahi was perfectly cooked and the mango buerre blanc was delicious! The high price would make us think twice, but aside from that everything was perfect from the setting, sunset and music, to the food and service.

Cane Canoe is a delightful place to dine and would recommend it highly! Food is top quality, well prepared and service spot on. Marc is a great server who knows the food and preparation of each item. Wine list needs some attention, but still has enough options for an excellent dining experience.
Waiter was fantastic but food took a long time despite them only serving a limited price fixed menu. Two of us enjoyed our choices but one thought it was just ok (could have been her but the lobster Mac Cheese app she had had lumpy cheese and tasted like Kraft). We always love Cane Canoe so just chalk that up to one bad dish out of many incredible ones.
