I want to give a huge virtual hug to the manager Elizabeth, Server Hailey and all at Cracker Barrel in Marion, IL, who was 9/24/2022 successful. This was my first time to visit this special restaurant. I invited a very dear friend/kitchen member (I call her Aunt Yo) for dinner and she asked to eat in the cracker barrel. Aunt Yo is a warm and generous woman who volunteers with the Alzheimer's Association in honor of her deceased mother (Mary F. Johnson) and does a number of other things in the community. When I learned that she would speak today at an event for Alzheimer's and it would also be 103. Being her mother's birthday, I wanted to make sure that Aunt Yo was not alone and would feel loved and appreciated. I called Cracker Barrel and spoke to Manager Elizabeth who was immediately ready to help me make sure Aunt Yo felt special and could also celebrate her mother's birthday today, lovingly known annually as “MFJ Day” by Aunt Yo's family. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess and immediately sat. Our server, Hailey, was super friendly and made sure that our order was perfect. Both meals were delicious and we had a lot to bring home. Aunt Yo and I enjoyed our dinner and the delicious chocolate cake we were treated in honor of the MFJ Day. On the trip home and in a text message a little later repeated Auntie Yo, how much she really enjoyed in the evening. I really appreciate a restaurant team that will celebrate the life of a loved one. No matter how old you are, you're always someone's child. Happy 103rd MFJ Day! If you are ever in Marion, IL, I highly recommend that you eat from cracker barrel for a bite and stop a little shopping. You also have options. Tell them Kindra Speech sent you.
