This was my first time eating here and I must say the bread was the freshest I have ever had, therefore I enjoyed my sandwich very much. One thing I noticed right off the bat is it wasn't very clean both in front of the counter and behind. The ladies were in a major rush despite there only being one person in front of me, this led to no wiping up after themselves etc. You can see all the way into the back and the floor, refrigerator doors were all very dirty with lots of stuff and old food on the floor. Needless to say this put me off as this made me wonder about how the food was prepared beforehand etc. But overall a good sandwich, to bad about the obvious unsanitary conditions that the food was being prepared in.

Hearty homestyle sandwiches. Just like grandma or dad would make ;) Delicious comfort food, with a side of soup. Prices range from $6 to $12 - keep in mind everything is homemade and locally sourced (which is a rarity nowadays). This new location on corner of Goldstream/Jacklin is larger than the previous one in Colwood. Customize your sandwich fixings at the deli counter and eat in or grab n go for a picnic at Langford Lake. Choose from traditional sandwich, wrap or grilled panini. Bread is delicious, soft and baked fresh in house. Even the roast beef and turkey are cooked fresh in their kitchen. They are known for their scratch-made soups offering up 3 daily options (they have a monthly menu board so you know what's coming!) Don't forget the cookies - they are tasty and also homemade. Everything is made in-house, even the salad dressings! They used to do a really good traditional breakfast menu on Sundays until 2pm. More tasty comfort food like eggs benny, omelettes, pancakes, waffles... not sure if they still do it (I can see why they need a day off!) Owner is a retired navy cook who is passionate about dishing out satisfying homemade comfort food (he's in the back kitchen every morning at 6am prepping for the day!) Nice to support a local family community-minded business, especially in Langford.Close fairly early so enjoy for lunch or early dinner.

Awesome homemade soups and a variety to choose from usually upwards of at least 6 choices. Great food and very entertaining staff with positive attitudes. Worth the drive to have some good old homemade soup and fresh baked breads with hearty and healthy choices of sandwiches. Keep up the great work john and staff.

We had butternut squash soup. It was delicious. They serve it with a large piece of bread. There were 6 or 8 different types of soup. Our roast beef sandwich was also very good with a generous portion of beef and whatever toppings you want. They even put different toppings on one half than the other so I could share with someone. The atmosphere and décor is terrible, not cosy or comfortable. Really needs to be redone. A larger selection of drinks would be nice too. There was a bunch of stuff piled near the door like boxes, vacuum and junk that should be hidden away in a closet.

Stopped by for a quick bite while we were walking around Langford. My daughter had the won ton soup, which she just loved. My only complaint is the lack of gluten free bread as I really wanted a sandwich.
