Einstein's Cafe

I came here last week with my boyfriend for date night and we had a great time. He was less impressed than I was and didn't actually like his meal at all but I thoroughly enjoyed mine. The interior is really cozy and quirky, with great lighting for a date as well. There is limited parking at the actual restaurant but you can park on the streets, just be aware of the time restrictions. Our server was very friendly and although they seemed to be a little short staffed she was attentive and timely. She made a great gin martini and her draft pours were perfect.We ordered the cornbread to start and it came with 3 huge corn muffins, halved, warm, and served with butter. They were really good but I don't think I would recommend ordering them for a group less than 3 because they are plentiful and filling. In fact I think that is the serving style here! Plentiful and filling. I ordered the Chicken Chalupa and it was delicious. The humongous chicken breast was perfectly cooked and came with guac and beans on top. I have to say that the toppings were a little under-seasoned, but it didn't ruin the dish. My boyfriend got the chicken enchiladas and they were pretty good too, but a much smaller serving size than mine. Thankfully I was so full he got to enjoy about half of mine. Considering the serving sizes the prices here are really fair. We had a great dinner and I think I will come back to try something else! It's always great to support local.

Over many years Einstein's has been my special place for special occasions. Consistently delicious. BUT four of us had an awful experience last week. The spritzer and the Margarita were watery. Our complaint to the wait person set off repeated denials: "both drinks were made with the requisite amounts of liquor/wine" She did not offer to add a shot or remix the drinks.Two of us ordered the steamed mussels which came with a delicious sauce. However there were numerous fragments of broken shells in the sauce; both of us found these sharp and dangerous so we did not continue our helpings. Instead of complaining to the surly wait person, I told the chef. He said that he must have stirred the dish too vigorously and offered me a free order next time I came. However I believe that he should have had the cost deducted from the bill, given the hazard we had been subjected to. One guest found the seafood crepe soggy and unappetizing; the other was content with her burrito.All in all a huge let down.

Probably the best meal I've had in Guelph to date! I got Pesto Pasta, and it was DELICIOUS. Pesto Pasta is, according to the menu, Fettuccine tossed with pesto, tomatoes, black olives and feta. I think there was some minced garlic in it, too because I could smell it. It was a perfectly cooked pasta and the portion was big as well. I'm not sure how their other dishes fare, but I'd get one of their pasta again. One complaint is that the food does come out slowly, so either order a take-out or give yourself lots of time. This place is small and a little cramped so it may not be best for large groups.

I have been going there for years but no more.I order the chefs creation because I asked the sever what the person beside had order.She said she would tell the chef I wanted the same thing.When I got my order it was a terrible beef wrap and spinach salad which I ate only the salad. It was the same thing that was on the menu which I would of never order. Nothing different. Where was the creation???The order the person beside me had was a soup, house salad, and a beautiful chicken wrap.Really what would it of taken to do the same order and please a customer.Now they just lost two.

We love this place! Hidden Jem! We go every once and while on Friday nights for that amazing Prime Rib, although everything is top notch quality and all made in house! The waiters are amazing and make your dinner experience all you could ever hope for! I invited my grandparents to join us and we celebrated my birthday and let me just say they were blown away and delighted with everything beginning to end. Can't wait to go back! If you haven't been, go!

4 of us enjoyed 4 different meals, all enjoyed very much, on a busy Saturday night before an 8:00 show. Host and hostess were wonderful, and they suggested leaving car there and walking thru parking lot to River Run. About a 5 minute walk, which was a nice surprise. Will come again if headed to the theatre. Thanks Einstein's :).

Very friendly atmosphere, service is fantastic and the food is amazing. The chef is there to please. He will also cater to off the menu requests. They also do catering as well, which I have ordered. Like the restaurant the catered food was equally amazing. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
