Visited with a party of 8 and the atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was pleasantly nice and quickly served us. The food was tasteful, the cake was deliciously moist, best corn bread. Some parts were just a change at and below temperature. The aesthetic was beautiful you have many possibilities to sit. The entrance is a bar and TV, a beautiful Dine-in area, or spacious outdoor dining with background photo operas. We sat outside near the side building where there is a pick-up window. It's getting busy. I'd try.

In the city for business and the woman was hungry, so we decided to give this wonderful institution an attempt. Overall, the Mesl was good and delivered a good part of the price. The chicken was crispy, but needed more spices and the fish was overseasoned. Definitely worth a return trip if in the area.
Found by chance to create soul food. Beautiful restaurant environment, long lines and good food with the exception of the catfish (wheat to taste). Everything else was AMAZING!! Many seats in and outside the restaurant. Owner was sweet and went through the line to welcome us.
The food is so tasteful! I had the first dish of chicken spaghetti I had in 10 years, and it was delicious. You also have Ox dick that is the best in town. Head up: the sweet tea is SWEET
Definitely has to be a family longtime standing business with loyal customers because the service and food IS NOT GOOD When I called and ordered the lady was very rude over the phone, we decided to go ahead and go in and eat. Well the food looked okay besides the flies crawling across the rice. It wasn?t good, definitely been under the lights a long time?? I ordered fried zucchini and attached the picture of the soggy zucchini I got, the fish was really big fillets but come to find out that was all crust ?
The food was so delicious! We didn't have to wait long. 10 mins or less. We took our food to go. There was plenty of seating available inside and outside. The walk up window wasn't busy either. Today was a great day to go sit outside and eat. The inside was very clean. The staff was welcoming and generous with the food. I got the last of the sweet tea. Made it just in time. The best food!
New location is beautiful. It?s separated by restaurant style dining which has the buffet side and the bar side for drinks. I ordered two separate plates: Plate 1: oxtails, double mac sweet potatoes. Cornbread inc. Plate 2: smothered pepper steak and rice, greens, and corn. Cornbread inc. Pros: fresh, all side dishes were delicious, cornbread included, lemon cake delicious Cons: both meats were tough to eat. The pepper steak and rice I threw away because both were extremely tough. Rice was definitely not done. I was rushed to order and there was absolutely nobody else in line but me. I paid roughly $60. Sadly it was not worth $60 flavor and quality wise but I understand why it came out to be that price because the amount of food you get. Ordered oxtails, fried chicken, dressing, Mac cheese, yams, greens, and banana pudding. First time. The line was long everyone trying to get good food. Chicken was okay now the dressing yams and mac chees was very tasty. Pudding had to many cookies for me. My wife loved the oxtails overall the ford was good.
