I love fords fish shack! I recommend the angry mustels for an appetizer because after eating they whistle, they want to drink the sose as suppe. it's so good. I would give everything for her recipe. I don't want to visit them much, but if I do, I'm trying to go to ford. we order in the rule the lobstah roll connecticut style and it never disappoints. it is very full and so rich in taste.

planted an evening dinner with family including my daughter 2 dogs. was informed that the restaurant dog was friendly on the terrace when the dogs were kept outside the rope zone (mainly on the walkway). when we got our table and realized that the dog “Rules” was not possible (literal via a server forest path from where we sat), we were watching the dogs along the restaurant wall. we were briefed by a manager that the owner would not allow this dog seat order. When we wanted to talk to the owner, we were informed that he wasn't there. we went and took our $200 check into a restaurant. we are not back, dogs or not. too many good local restaurants to choose from. Message to the owner (which is obviously not dog safe:) a dog in a restaurant can only be managed while under/beside the table. placing a dog in a wise manner required by fords would be more disturbing than our attempt to corralize our dogs near. they need to change their directive to not dog friendly to comply with their rules.

Consistently terrific seafood and friendly, prompt service. If you are from New England, then this is the place to go for all your favorites. Great lobster rolls (both regular and Connecticut style) and yummy fries. It’s not cheap but the quality and quantity of food justify the price. Parking is behind the restaurant, which may be a bit confusing. Highly recommend.

Great place to dine. The Lobster Cobb salad is one of their specialties that never disappoints. The special today was grilled Mahi on a bed of Cauliflower mash covered with a lemon caper sauce. Mahi was cooked perfectly...taste was divine. Service was fantastic as well.

I was thoroughly let down by my experience here. I had heard a lot of hype about this place and my expectations were high going into eat.I will say that the food tasted bland and flavorless. I mean, if you're going to put Jambalaya on the menu, do it right! New Orleans would be ashamed if you served this. Completely lacking in flavor and the pasta was more than al dente, it was HARD and still needed to be cooked. My wife ordered the crab cake benedict, it was okay but the portion was super skimpy. My take is you can 1) Charge high prices for excellent food or 2) Skimp portions but you can't do both, especially when the food is not excellentThere is not enough value offered by this dining establishment for me to consider going back. Rip off prices, small portions and bland, flavorless food. Even the hostesses and wait staff could use some additional training on how to have a personality, be friendly and be hospitable.I waited like 15 minutes for the waiter to come by and take my money so I could leave the place. And this was on a Sunday afternoon when it was not busy.I will stick with Great American Restaurants where the experience and food is consistently awesome! Do not recommend this place

I thought the crab cakes were so amazing I'd never get anything else. Then I discovered the fish sandwich here. It is insanely good. And I crave the grilled corn on the cob almost as much. Service is great too, in restaurant and curbside. This place is a treasure.
