Les Enfants Terribles

Place ville Marie location has a nice atmosphere, beautiful view of Montreal, but very despointing, we found a hair in the pate chinois, the waitress brought the wrong drink, and because it was recommended what soupossed to be a maytai, was something muskul. no even a excuse.....the macaroni was no cooked and I know what al dente means.....too bad for such beautiful place.

Went walking during a summer evening and liked the terrace Decided to stay and try the food. Salmon tartar was good, my burger was good, not great , and my wife's steak was fair. Tender but a little bland and the sauce was fair. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the evening, and the server was very nice. Would try it again but without high expectations for the food.

A step above the ordinary. An appetizer of shrimp on compressed watermelon was attractive and delicious. We had octopus which was pricey but better than we've had in Greece. The Cornish hen was tastefully seasoned and perfectly done. Service was excellent. We liked it so much that we bought their wine glasses.

We stopped by after work for a quick meal. We had three different appetizers, all of which were really good. The scallops crudo with caviar and avocado was outstanding-better than any scallop ceviche I can recall. We also shared some flavorful fresh oysters and and excellent blood sausage (boudin noir). The wine list had several interesting choices by the glass-I had a Cava that went perfectly with the oysters and scallop.Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. I'll go back to dinner soon I hope!

We had a Saturday brunch on our first visit to Montreal. The menu was limited and not interesting but enough for what we were expecting. Since their rating is below our very own threshold we ordered scrambled eggs and yogurt to be safe. Both were better than we expected. Reasonable prices and large portions. There is open terrace seating facing the river side. But they should add couple more umbrellas. Even though the ugly roof blocks part of the view it is worth to spend some time during day time.

My daughter and I recently had lunch at les Enfants Terribles which is the roof-top restaurant in Place-Ville-Marie, 44 floors up. The menu has a wide variety of offerings from steak and tuna tartar to game hens and shephard's pie. I chose the seared tuna, which was excellent and my daughter had the salmon tartar, which she said was one of the best she ever had. Despite being packed, the service was excellent in both English and French. The wine selection was vast as well.

I ordered a poutine which was roasted potatoes, shredded pork, bacon, cheese and sauce. It was really tasty although the pork was a bit chewy. The sauce was super good. We ate inside but the front of the restaurant was open so it was cool and pleasant. The wait staff were courteous and helpful. It was a very nice experience. The others at the table ordered different plates but they all looked good.
