The last time I wanted to have breakfast at Skillet there was a line out the door, so I kept on driving. Finally last Saturday around 9am I was able to get a seat at the counter. It was worth the wait. The restaurant is cozy. A smaller version of the diner from the 1976-85 TV show Alice. The waitresses are friendly, in a genuine but sugary way. When one of the waitresses learns that it's a boy's birthday today, she tells her co-worker, who brings over a box of assorted toys for him to choose a gift from. I'm going back for my birthday in about two months! Not for the toy but for the food. I had a delicious Greek omelet, without the home fries (I'm on the keto-based Medi-Weightloss diet), even though they looked scrumptious on someone else's plate. The coffee, which I had black, was smooth.I wasn't rushed out. It felt like I was eating at an aunt's house. I will definitely be back! Maybe even before my birthday...
