After a drought of quality together, my partners and I decided it was time for a fun dinner together. Certainly, we first checked Google reviews! The location and the diner menu (plus the availability of a bar) lead us to the pub; it is also a few minutes walk away. The IPA on Hahn was exactly the way I enjoy Goose something and it was nice to sit and sipe a beer while we chat and catch looking at the Phillies playing the Orioles. My partner chose a cup of Italian wedding soup; he said it was as expected and his saltin crackers were thrown off almost immediately. I had a taste of broth and it was good! I don't usually like an Italian wedding soup. He finished everything. A good, tasteful broth is a good measure for a restaurant if I would judge them alone on the broth, they would win my favor. The sit-down area was too busy tables were empty, but most cabins were occupied, so we had no problem feeling comfortable. It was obvious that there was only one server; when Monday night I was not surprised. I feel for waiting for employees in this pandemic world, because shortages of staff and care have cost them tips, although waiting staff have no impact on both! And as someone who previously served tables, I know how demanding (and deterrent) guests can be. For dinner, partner went with an Italian club sandwich, I went with the reuben, and we ordered sweet potatoes to share. Our server was well versed in the varieties of toast available. My partner ordered his club without cheese, which is atypical, and he arrived with cheese. Once we mentioned it, she had a fresh club that didn't pick up the cheese. It was a whole new sandwich! I saw her write up and I know it's a little unconventional, and we appreciate her quick answer despite the fact that the only server. My reuben was perfection. It was all delicious essential that a reub should be: savory baked beef, sauerkraut, dressing, molten Swiss, etc., on perfectly roasted bread that was not soggy. The sweet potato fries were very thin and well salted, so the balance of sweet and hearty was perfectly combined with a dab of good old ketchup. I lived in Quakertown for a while; the pub is within walking distance. I don't know why I waited so long to try. It is easy and convenient to stay with the same over and over... maybe this will be our new same place! Don't go to John. Go to the pub!
