Talula’s Garden

We hosted our NYC friends this past weekend and had dinner on Sunday evening at Talulah's Garden. While we're always pleased with our evenings at Talulah's, our friends were very impressed!

This is definitely a “special occasion” dinner location. It’s quite expensive. The drinks really add to the costs. When we go back I would order several appetizers- they were excellent. I would probably skip the entrees. The appetizers were very well portioned and delicious- the entrees were more than we needed to feel full and very over priced. The ambiance in the outside areas were well designed- warm enough with heaters and very quiet. I much preferred eating in the outside space rather than the inside of the very crowded restaurant. It was a very nice dining experience.

We had a great experience at Talula’s Garden. This was our first time dining there and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for a warm/cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were all great and accommodating. We were assigned outdoor dining but I called and asked for indoor and they did so with no hesitation. Once we got there, we noticed that the outdoor setup is just as nice, warm and cozy as the indoor. And let’s not forget the food — everything we ordered was delicious. From the drinks to the food, we were highly satisfied!

Service was okay, I do not like it when I can’t get my water refilled. And I only got one refill of water throughout the evening. This is y only real complaint As usual the biscuits were excellent, we decided to have two sides for starters, the cucumbers and the beets, and that was a great choice. The blend of flavors was exquisite. Cucumbers were nice and crunchy and delightfully flavored, the beets were flavorful and robust, and complimented the cucumbers well, the ricotta on the beets provided a bright contrast! The honey pepper butter for the biscuits was sublime The Bronzino was delicious, perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft buttery melt away flavor, the accompanying citrus, almonds, and salsa Verde were incredible. I could’ve done without the cilantro, however the rest of the main course meal was perfect. The chef deserves great kudos. Eating this meal was like watching a fine performance unfold before you. For dessert, we tried both the Key Lime mouse cake and the Tarte tartine. The graham cracker ice cream with the key lime cake was superb! It provided a happy upbeat gastronomical adventure for my tongue, which exploded like brilliant fireworks in my mind! The buttermilk ice cream accompanying the Tarte tartine was a sharp biting contrast to the sweet, caramelized flavors that fit like a hand in a silk glove. The light puffed pastry resembled eating a meringuée made of crisp buttery, flakey layers. Entire dinner was a great way to celebrate a birthday! Thank you.

Food quality and variety is down significantly from past times here. Service was ok, but very disjointed and seems inexperienced at best.

The perfect spot for outdoor dining throughout the winter. Special enough to celebrate a birthday, but casual enough to not need any particular reason for a meal here. Wonderful food and service, and we appreciate the safety measures…the privacy, the masks, being outside. The spaces are also heated VERY thoroughly, though it’s currently still so mild that we didn’t even need the heat.

Our meal and our experience were exceptional! The service was also amazing!! We sat in the heated garden, which was very comfortable, although it was outside in the 30s!! We sat with guests from the city. They all agreed their food was incredibly delicious. I would definitely recommend you to try Talula’s Garden for Brunch!
