Two of us missed our exit to I-85 and ended on 7/18/08 in Gastonia and wished some fish. When we saw a sign for the Captain's Cap and decided to eat there. The food was economical and excellent in quantity and taste. Very fresh salad bar. Very courteous and attentive staff. Plan to come back in the future.

If you really want good seafood, this is the place to go. Great service and generous portions make this the best fish restaurant all around. The best way to get to the opening time is to fill the seats quickly. However, it has a drive thru due to the high demand, it takes a while to get your food.
20 years ago with my parents in this place. Was in the area a month ago and went back to the restaurant. Since a few times back. It's about an hour drive from where I live and in a direction I rarely travel, but I'll go back to this restaurant when I'm in the area. I am not a seafood expert, but they still serve flounder of a kind that still has the skin with the dark side and the bright side. I like the dark side by the way. Only seafood restaurant I know is still doing this.
It took over an hour and half to serve. Had to take my food to go for my family of 3 because the restaurant soon closed. A family of 7 came to our food 15 minutes after our order and was served and left before we received our food. I'll never go back there.
Best sweet tea, the oil in which they roast is always fresh, the chicken offers are not fishing tasting. The salad bar is always fresh and filled. The Cole Slav, potato salad and macaroni salad from the salad bar is delicious. And the Hush puppies are not soggy. My family and I always enjoy our dinner experience when we go.
A salad bar! Yay, Covid is over. Got the fried white fish because I needed a flaky center and almost crunchy crust. Tasted fresh, good enough for me. Partner got whole catfish, piled high very decent portions. Nani got the flounder, yummy. All in all, basket of hushpuppies, baked potato, and the pitcher of sweet tea was left for us on the table. Kim was our server, she 's basically family now. Don 't pay extra for salt and pepper because it did not taste like it was added.
Went there with a group from work. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food had good portions and was delicious. I had the grilled steak and shrimp. The steak melted in my mouth. Best sweet tea I e ever had at a restaurant...Great place ..will be coming nack
