The Himalayan Flames (gaurishankar Inc)

We stopped in after flying into the Detroit area on the way to our hotel. We both had curry- my husband had the lamb curry Himalayan special and I had the methi chicken Himalayan special. Everything was delicious. We had garlic and regular naan as well and the naan was amazing!! The garlic naan is a little on the sweeter side, so I preferred the traditional. You do need to go in the back door- we were one of a few who tried to come in the front. ?

Jam packed with flavor! It was a bit difficult navigating the menu since there's a lot of overlap in the ingredients so we sort of just winged it and ended up with some fantastic food. Honestly I forgot the name of the dishes but they were 3/3 on the entrees and the naan bread was exceptional (the pesto one was an unexpected hit!)Vegetarian options: Many clearly marked options for vegetarians

I asked for a recommendation for a dish since I have a gluten allergy. The dish that was recommended and brought to the table, and I ate part of, contained gluten.Everything besides that was very nice.If you have an allergy, be careful here.Also, the entrance is around the back, not by the street.Vegetarian options: They have clear marking on their menu for vegan options.Dietary restrictions: I asked for gluten free recommendations, and the waiter brought me a dish that contained gluten. It was an accident, but I still ended up eating some before I realized.Be very careful if you dine here and you have an allergy.

I’ve never written a Google review, but had to go ahead and give this place its props. So so good, and now our go-to for Indian food, both for take-out and going out for date nights. Thank you for making incredible food and having such a cozy atmosphere!

Wonderful! Amazing selection of food! If you’re used to Indian food you can get what you’re looking for here. And, it doesn’t all taste the same like it came out of a jar or something! You can taste the meat and the vegetables and the spices contribute well. Best Indian food we’ve had in quite a while! Medium has more pep than some people will want.

One of my favorite restaurants in Dearborn! I always have a problem with Indian food because it's too spicy but not tris place. The food is always in point. The staff is professional. The restaurant is always clean. The dishes aren't too spicy because I can't handle spice. I love the window seating. Parking is close. Get the fried bread!!!The restaurant is inside the 220 building. The building next to the better health store. Walk in next to the jewelry shop and walk all the way to the front of the building on Michigan Avn
