A large group of us were here for the first time recently for the breakfast buffet. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we were there so we appreciated that we kind of had our own section to ourselves. While the restaurant is very dated it was clean, as were the washrooms. Our server was young and friendly but was terrible at checking in on us to see whether we needed anything. The breakfast buffet was just ok. We found it incredibly odd that we were unable to serve ourselves any of the hot food and instead had to wait for the servers to come and serve us. Waiting was awkward and it just seemed very unnecessary. It is an all you can eat buffet so customers should be able to serve themselves. The selection included basic breakfast items like french toast, sausage, scrambled eggs and bacon. I don't eat pork so there was not a ton of variety for me. There were random foods offered as well like spring rolls, cabbage rolls, and some mystery dish with bread and Lord knows what else that was a soggy mess. Overall, the hot food was okay. Nothing spectacular. The cold salad bar was good. The dessert bar was pretty basic; jello, pudding and vanilla cake. I ordered a coffee and not once did I get a refill. There were also pitchers of water on the table and those weren't refilled either. The bill was paid while many people were still eating but after the waitress got the money we never saw her again. People were wanting refills and to have plates cleared but she had disappeared. Very disappointing. Won't be back.
