TLDR:It comes to communication and the wrong order and leave us in a bind, as the store postponed the pick-up time, leave us without options. Full details: The order was well written in advance and as on the sheet; clearly says: No decor necessary; can be pure chocolate. Well, why write this negative review; it comes to communication. When the staff arrived this morning, they did not try to contact us that the order was wrong. We called to confirm our collection and they asked us if we could come 2 hours later to pick up; but they did not inform us why or give any hints. When we came 2 hours later, nothing else was mentioned to us to hand over the box; the as you can see is very colorful and extremely decorated. As nothing was mentioned by the staff... we had to ask; why the order was decorated differently than ordered; and why it was never mentioned this morning on the phone, or if you are aware of the items when the order is clearly explained. The excuses given were not reasonable (not reading instructions). This is not a valid excuse with an order placed in advance. And it's not reasonable never to bring it up when we called or when we picked it up personally. We received a refund; the 1 star rating is for bad communication; leave us in a bind by returning the order window without other options from them. No excuse; except “so we want to confirm that you reject this order”. Note to future orders. Confirm what you want; call them and confirm with them orally the order was made right. And maybe three times confirm that. Wouldn't want others to delay this store because of their bad communication.

Nutella pound cake is amazing as all her offers. I live about 25 miles away and will soon make another trip.
Came here to taste some treats for a coming party. Cupcakes and cookies were very good and the brownies were a little dry. The woman at the counter seemed short and impatient with us, and it made such a bad taste in my mouth that I decided to take my business elsewhere.
This place is amazing. I needed a cake for my mother's birthday and they delivered the best tasting cake I had for a long time. We ordered vanilla cake with strawberry filling and a strawberry butter cream and they delivered a damp and super tasteful three-layer cake! The 9 were for 20-25 people. Give them an attempt not to be disappointed!
I've gotten a few Big Sugar Bakeshop items for various events (birthdays, bridal shower, etc. They never miss!! Always looking spectacular and tasting just as amazing. And their turnaround time is very impressive. Highly recommend calling multiple days ahead for special orders, but they are so great at working with whatever you need. Also just tried their gluten free chocolate cupcakes for the first time recently, and they taste so good you wouldn't know they're GF.
Racist shop and based on the other reviews I am not alone with this assessment. People of color are not welcome here. Do not spend your money here.
I really was going to give this bake shop the benefit of the doubt in regards to all the bad reviews but the reviews are always right! I spoke with a lady with a high pitched voice and shared with her what I needed for my daughters birthday on Monday. She said go ahead and email my request and put me on hold. I waited 10 minutes couldn't wait anymore and just emailed my request. Waited 2 hours and no response. When I called back she answered again and said please hold and put me on hold. And I stayed on hold. No call back. Guess they don't want my business. Customer service is really bad and thank goodness I didn't have them make a cake for my daughters special day.
Their cupcakes and cakes are generally good. The last cake I got tasted dry and stale. The service is as bad as it gets. I bought a Neapolitan small cake for my daughter 's birthday and made it clear that it would be kept in the fridge for a day. They gave me a box made out of other boxes. And left the sides open. See picture. When they handed it to me, I asked about the open sides and they added clear wrap. My husband asked about the wrapping and they said, box is complimentary. Also, it 's year-end so supplies are back-ordered.
