Poke has been popular in the continental US for the last several years. 5 6 years ago seemed to be a major wave period of time when lots of poke places were opened. Same for Bowl Lab they opened in July 2017. With the poke market seeming pretty saturated, finally I no longer see new poke places keep popping up. And although I thought many might go out of business, especially through the pandemic with many people still not returning to their offices and despite seeing most of them had little business volume, most poke places still remain open, at least for the 4 5 poke places near where I live. Bowl Lab is definitely one of the exceptions, they always remain very popular and offer a comparably more unique style of poke experience. We were there on a Friday evening around 7:30; there were a few groups dining outdoors and a few groups dining indoors (they close at 9pm). Their AC was reaaaally strong, the indoors was too cold for us so we decided to sit outdoors. The current prices for Poke Bowls are: Regular $12.45 (2 scoops protein) Large $14.45 (3 scoops protein) X Large $16.45 (4 scoops protein) We ordered the regular sized ones, but curious to know if we ordered a Large or X Large one, is it just extra scoop of protein or does the base (salad or rice) also get upsized proportionally. The food ordering process was smooth. The employee was a bit quiet but friendly. We ordered the pre set menu items so we didn’t have to make too many choices. They use an environmentally friendly cardboard based bowl as a food container. The overall presentation was very good. And with their signature sauces zig zag drizzled on the top, they mixed with all ingredients very well! I could see why this place is so popular compared to many other similar poke bar places. They have limited parking spaces in front of the restaurant and more in the garage behind the restaurant. By the time we were leaving around 8pm, while walking in the parking garage toward our car, a car pulled up next to us and the driver asked us if we knew where Bowl Lab was lol. This is how popular this place is. I’m glad we were there during a slow time so we didn’t have to wait in line to order or to get a table. Overall, we had a very good dining experience and will definitely return. Right now this is the brand’s only location. On their website, they indicate COMING SOON for: Midtown, GA Kennesaw, GA Buckhead, GA Sandy Springs, GA Miami, FL Charlotte, NC They didn’t provide a timeline on when other locations will open, but I’m hoping they truly will open soon so this exceptional poke experience can be enjoyed by more people!
