We booked a reservation for a party of 10 on short notice for October 14th. It was pretty much an hour's notice. The staff were very accommodating and we had a delicious meal. There's no kids menu but they took the kids requests and made what they desired. The same applied for deserts - lots of yummy homemade pies and cakes. Ice cream weren't on the menu but some of the kids wanted it and the staff made their desired desserts.Considering how busy it was at the time, the wait for our meals wasn't too bad. There were ten of us. They also have wifi...don't know that it's available for all but the children asked and they received it. It made for a quiet meal as they were entertained while the adults chatted.Staff were polite, professional, patient, and accommodating. Truly, very pleased with the customer service we received. It was refreshing as my previous restaurant experience at another establishment in Lewisporte was atrocious. Here's the breakdown of what our party had:4 coffee - $7.162 gravy - $1.982 side dressing - $1.981 apple pie (slices) - $2.952 coconut cream pie (slices) - $5.902 Wayne special - $17.98 (fries, dressing, gravy, and turkey)2 chocolate eruption - $11.901 hot turkey sandwich - $11.992 club houses / side - $22.98Add cheese x 2 - $1.981 clubhouse - $6.991 hotdog platter - $5.751 small poutine - $3.992 hotdog - $7.001 half Caesar salad - $4.526 large soft drink - $11.34 (these were cans of pop, 355 ml)2 ice cream - $3.00Regarding the food, I can only speak for the Wayne's special. It consists of fries, dressing aka savoury, gravy, and your choice of turkey or beef. I opted for turkey. It's a good size portion and consists mostly of the fries and gravy with some dressing and turkey. For me, it was most delicious. Wayne's special is similar to a truckers special that locals would have enjoyed many moons ago. So, there is some nostalgic elements in it for me. It's a Newfoundland dish...I've yet to see it up here on the mainland. As for the other meals, no one in my party mentioned any complaints. Everyone seemed content. The food was good, atmosphere inviting, and staff had great customer service. A happy customer is a repeat customer and I would certainly return durning my next visit to Newfoundland. For folks attending for a meal, there is parking on site (free.) As well, when you remit payment, you'll do it at the front desk of the hotel. They also accept major credit cards. One suggestion regarding the seating, the wooden chairs were uncomfortable for some folks as they found it hard on their backs. Perhaps that's something you can address for future patrons. I understand the establishment is under new management. When will the hotel portion the renovations be completed and do you have any photos? Thanks!
