D J's Family Restaurant

Famous for their chicken, awesome pizzas and salad bar. In general good food, but not cheap. Walk in, get a table, walk up to the counter to order and pay, walk back up to the counter when they call your number. Self serve drinks and salad bar. Hopefully you will get Wayne at the till to enhance your ordering experience. They do lots of catering.

Our children invited us over for DJs pizza so off we were to pick it up on our way to their place. Got there and didn't need to wait. It was hot and ready. Once we were at their place we sat down to enjoy and savor the flavor. Thanks DJs once again you didn't disappoint us.

This is a nice place to eat however the staff could be friendlier with at least showing they enjoy their job. The food is always good, but it isn't cheap. You walk in order your meal at the cash register and then you get a number on your receipt and wait for them to call you so you can pick up your food and then return to your table to eat it. You help yourself to your fountain drinks as well. It is very clean but the atmosphere almost feels a bit cool. They also have a self serve salad bar.

This restaurant has good food and exceptional service when Wayne, one of the owners is present. However when his brother Kal is there I feel like turning around and not going in at ALL! He is horrible at customer service, pretty much you feel like you are trespassing and are an inconvenience to him. This place would benefit greatly if Kal would never step foot inside this restaurant, many of my local friends have the same opinion. Wayne however is just awesome at customer service, very responsive and helpful, we had him cater many of our events and everybody just loves their food. Two start deduction for bad service that Kal consistently provides.

I cannot believe this is the number one place in Winkler. I suspect that the positive reviews are from the owners as the pizza I just ate from this restaurant was some of the worst I have ever had. We had two XL pizzas with two toppings. At this restaurant banana peppers are considered a topping and scant at best. The pizza was so thin on toppings that there were places that actually had no topping and were just crust. The sauce was absent and the cheese was very minimal. When you lifted your slice up the grease literally ran off the pizza in a stream and then dripped. We had to pick up as they don't deliver and the man who met us was grouchy and made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience to him. We asked for some dried peppers and Parmesan cheese and we got two very tiny containers that took several minutes to find. I will never eat here again.

Need I say more?!?! Best pizza in town. We ordered take out and took it back to my sister's place. Hot and tasty! Always my fav pizza when I'm in Winkler!

Classic family restaurant/coffee shop. The food is really good especially the pizza, but expensive compared to other pizza places in town. Not sure if they still charge for fountain drink re-fills but that should change! Salad bar seems alright. They should come up with pizza deals or something!
