Dos Hombres Mexican Restaurant

Had dinner tonight with my mother and wife after our drive over from Colorado Springs todayGetting in town about 5:30pm.

Been back here a few times Had inconsistent experiences with the food in the past, though it has improved a good deal in recent times.

We were just on the restaurant that came through the city and didn't look at the reviews. We came in everyone was very nice to sit pretty fast. The salsa is not terribly spicy, but it is definitely more than just crushed tomatoes in a bowl and had a great taste. The chips were fresh and the food we had was excellent. From my experience, I can tell you we'll come back when we get through the city.

Everything seemed to be well managed, we had 15 minutes waiting, good service and the food was fantastic.

I have been ordering at Dos Hombres for twenty some years and tonight I had the absolute worst meal ever, sad to say. I ordered three items for take out over the phone and when I arrived one of those items was missing so I had to wait for it to be prepared. I had ordered a deli tostada and it was swimming in grease. The “crispy” flour tortilla was a soggy, disgusting mess. I was unable to finish and for desert I had to take a handful of Tums to combat the instant heartburn. The other items ordered were not near as bad, but were certainly substandard from what we had come to love and expect from Dos Hombres.

Have eaten here many times. Always satisfying. Last night I ordered Carne asada. Worst cut and cooked piece of beef I've ever seen or tasted. Waitress noticed I hadn't eaten it and asked if I wanted a box. No thanks. You can throw it away here. Worst food I've seen come out of this restaurant. Highly disappointing.
