El Palenque

This is my first time in this place. I think the food prices were the same with a restaurant of this calibre. The food itself was good and well presented. The restaurant was clean. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant a 5-star rating is because the person who served us didn't understand English. We had to call someone to make sure our food was ordered properly. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with someone who's not American or doesn't speak English. I just think that in the situation where you serve the public, you should ensure that your staff can communicate well. I would recommend going to this place if you want a real Mexican food.

Chips and salsa were good to start. Had a blue raspberry margarita and spicy pineapple margarita. Both were excellent! Enjoy a steak grilled stuff spicy Burrito filled with chorizo! Stay away from Mexican water.

Authentic Mexican cuisine! Great service, food came hot and not wait long! The waitress was fantastic!!

Great food. #45 and #60. Fajitas and enchiladas with a few Negra Models. Clean establishment, good service, and decent prices. It doesn't matter if it's a weekday or weekend, I recommend this place to visit.

Food was awesome, price not bad. All in all a great experience.

Visited El Palanque for the first time on an early Tuesday evening. I only ever order fajitas at Mexican restaurants and was pleasantly surprised to see that their steak and chicken fajitas were a special that evening. My meal came and it was dried out looking and tasting chicken and steak with a few slices of onion and green pepper which I thought was how their version is presented. I was almost done eating when several people near me were served fajitas that came hot, smoking, sizzling and smelled wonderful. I asked my dining partner if my food looked like that when it came out and she said absolutely not. I asked our server why my meal looked so blah compared to others and he said because it was a special they get slammed so they need to prepare the meat and veggies ahead of time. Mine obviously sat around for quite a long time before being served to me and then they cooked fresh to order when the precooked meat ran out. I felt very cheated. Server also charged me the regular price instead of the special price...I had the error corrected. When I cashed out, I mentioned my meal presentation to the cashier who really could have cared less. Then she charged me for two meals instead of one. After getting very snippy with me when I brought that to her attention, she decided not to charge me for my meal but she was not happy about it. Won't be going back there again.

Just went for our first time. Delicious! I had the street tacos (the spicy salsa on the side is really spicy! , Others in my group had an assortment of other things, all said theirs was excellent as well. Salsa and chips are outstanding as well and they kept us well stocked with both. Will be back, and highly recommend.
