Energizing environment with live music and delicious food. We had seats outdoors, but we didn't feel we were missing on the vibe inside. Our server was great that she was fun and worried about us. We tried the Kim Chee for an appetizer who was good, but only a small part of himself. I think if they heated it or served with some fun, there could be a cool turn. Everything in a cool place to feel like a local.

I want to see myself as a Burger connoisseur; What is my last meal in the death cell? The All-Star breakfast by Waffle House, but a Wagyu Burger by Hilo Burger Joint comes in a short second. The trick to a good burger: cooked directly (medium) and the right season that both HBJ was successful. I am a very basic guy (bud, meat, cheese), but take my word: this burger gave me a half sip. Don't even let me go over the Pommes: cooked and fed to perfection. Large selection of brews from the islands and ghosts from all over the world. 11/10 recommend if you are on this page of Big Island.
Delicious burgers to try so many fun toppings. Try the Hilo Bay Burger if you are a goat cheese or beet lover. Keiki menu, fatburgers to healthy options to make your burger a salad. Sunday brunch. Something for everyone. Super friendly staff, cozy old time burger joint feel, football playing on Sunday.
The food here was absolutely fantastic. The staff was super helpful and although the place was super busy, we could get a table. The palette of burgers and the possibilities you can have is so good. You have to go.
Absolutely amazing burger joint. They must have had 20 different burger Concoctions to choose from including wagoo beef patties. Sweet potato fries. They also have a full bar and many local and trusted brews. I really loved the old fashioned western saloon vibe. The are also LGBTQ friendly and welcomed. There's a huge and by huge I mean a true giant Banyon tree across the street which makes a great spot for a big family photo. Thanks so much for your hard work and effort to make this place awsome and tasty. Keep it up we will be returning.
After a long day driving from Waikoloa and exploring National Volcano Park we were starving. We searched for a place that was open after 8:00 PM and found this gem. What a lovely spot, filled with friendly locals and staffed by great people. And the burgers? Forget 'bout it.
My wife and I shared a green chili burger and a curry gravy burger. I was surprised that the curry gravy turned out to be my favorite. Very flavorful but not too spicy. The fries were also quite crispy and tasty.
Our first visit to Hilo Burger Joint was as expected… good food, live music, and awesome creative burgers ! Our server was friendly, but could’ve been more prompt. We waited for a bit for water at first, then starters came late (with the meal), and our waters weren’t refilled. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it and the food was tasty.
