A friendly small town restaurant with a varied menu We often go there for lunch and sometimes dinner while travelling along the 148. Invariably the service is prompt and helpful. The food is good and the prices are reasonable
We go there most Sundays after Church. Hursty's serve breakfast Sundays til 1;00. Other meals are also very reasonably prices and great service. Opens at 7;00 AM for Breakfast. Also serve Lunch and dinner & days a week.
Hursty's bar and grill is a another restaurant located on the main drag shawville Quebec. I grown up around this restaurant and must say the service and food has deteriorated over the years. Service is average, normally friendly but far from something I would write home about. the restaurant is old and warn and could use a face lift. The food is hit or miss, sometimes I get a great burger and sometimes I get a tasteless pile of what tastes like pre-prepared food. It is pricey for what it is and I would recommend other establishments before I recommend here.
The food was very greasy and the presentation isn't great (chicken Cesar wrap, Hamburger Platter). Atmosphere is dull, it seems so dark in there. It needs updating and a good cleaning. Staff doesn't seem happy to be there either.
Had a BLT and "Shawville Chips" (home made potato chips). Edible, but not great. The staff was friendly. $11.00 was too much for a BLT, greasy chips and a drink! The influx of cottager children running everywhere did not help the atmosphere either.

My family of 5 visited here on a Sunday evening. We are new to the area and really wanting to find a regular local to frequent. This restaurant was the only one open this day, so although it was not welcoming, we decided to give it a go.The restaurant is dingy. The wait staff did not seem happy to see us. Although it was mostly empty, our orders took 40 minutes to come out. My husbands chicken was burned beyond recognition. The grilled cheese sandwiches our sons ordered were not close to being done. The kids thought the home made soup was food. The fish and chips were average.I think the waitress was run off her feet, and I suspect she was also the cook that night.We did not complain, we just won't go again.
