Definitely one of the best restaurants in Tofino! Great ambiance, location, and the food was seriously delicious. The Ginger Beer Tempura calamari was far superior to anything we've had before. My kids (from the U.K.) both agreed it was the best 'posh' fish 'n' chips they ever had, and the seafood risotto was absolutely sublime. Seeing the sun set as we ate this glorious food was magical, highly recommend.

We spent our last night in Tofino and the Ice House Oyster Bar and it was the perfect ending to a bucket list trip!! The ambiance and location is fantastic (right on the water). I ordered the Halibut on the recommendation of the waiter and it was the best Halibut I've ever had. I insisted my fellow diners try the dish and they all agreed. Mouth watering broth and super tasty accompaniments. Everyone loved their meal and I only wish I was here longer to sample more selections from the menu. Definitely a 5 start dining experience! Best to make a reservation so you aren't disappointed!

I'm still on a food high and had to take time out from my vacation to write this review. The Ice House is without a doubt the best restaurant in Tofino and should be top of the list for locals and tourists alike. Chilled wine, relaxed vibe, oceanfront views, and fabulous food... Tofino dinning doesn't get better than this! I had the halibut and it was like butter... I had to stop myself from licking the plate! My companion had the salmon tartar and begged our server for the recipe! If you only eat out once in Tofino, I can't recommend the Ice House enough! Yum!

Das Lokal würde man beim durchschlendern des Ortes niemals finden, vielmehr vom Blick auf dem Pier für ein ausgesprochen hässliches Gebäude halten, wo man nicht ahnen kann, welche Perle sich dahinter verbirgt.Das Restaurant war restlos besetzt, wir zu acht durften dennoch an der Theke Platz nehmen und auf einen Tisch warten. Es gefiel uns dort aber so gut, das Treiben hinter der Bar zu beobachten, dabei nett mit dem Team zu plaudern, dass wir gleich dort blieben.Vorab, es ist kein preiswertes Restaurant, aber jeden Cent wert. Das Essen ist wunderbar frisch, aussergewöhnlich sind hier sogar Fish & Chips, nämlich außergewöhnlich gut, der Lachs mmmh und auf den Punkt gegrillt. Eine Auswahl von Austern wird nach Wunsch ganz frisch von den hinter der Bar befindlichen Eisbergen genommen und zubereitet, sehr gelungen.Wir bestellten u.a. Crab for 2, ein großer Krebs mit Muscheln, Lachs, Kalamari, sehr lecker, aber auch recht scharf, das hatte ich so nicht erwartet. Wer da etwas empfindlich ist, sollte dies beachten und ggf. bei der Bestellung entsprechend berücksichtigen lassen.Auch die Cocktails waren klasse.Die Location total cool und mit einem wunderbaren Ausblick aufs Wasser, jedoch wird es auf der Terrasse schnell recht frisch, an eine Jacke denken!Wir würden jederzeit mit großer Vorfreude wiederkommen

Big expectations for this place as so highly rated on Trip Advisor. Not all bad, some of the food was good particularly the oysters and clams and you can't go wrong with fish and chips. Salmon was rather bland and halibut was disappointing and we had much better in other Tofino restaurants. The main reasons for the low score are cramped tables, obstructed view after have booked weeks in advance for scenic view, distracted and not that helpful waiter including forgetting to bring two beers we had ordered. When reminded about them he plonked them on the table without an apology and did not explain which beer was which. There also was a lack of staff dealing with a function on the deck and restaurant. Lastly although we realize it is called Ice House it was absolutely freezing and it had been one of the hottest days in August. Great location but lots of areas that could be improved. Not sure if we would go back.

A few disappointments with this one. Travelling with extended family, reservations made over 1 month in advance and lots of attitude about how put out the staff were to our request for a table for 5 by the window...as confirmed many weeks before. "Well we're going to be full tonight!". Really unbelievable. Long waits for service, rushed, maybe short staffed, but no apologies. It was our privilege to be there. Wouldn't go back. By the way, the mussels as an appetizer are served cold. Apparently they're supposed to be cold. wouldn't recommend them. Food was pretty good otherwise. Slow.
