July 4th weekend. We won't be looking for another inn next time we are in Manchester. Crystal and Ray are wonderful hosts with a very, very lovely and spacious inn with nice community rooms to hang out in. Our room was clean, bright (easy to darken if sleeping in a little and well appointed. (The iron came in very handy. Aromatic and perfectly brewed coffee awaits at 7:30 while Breakfast begins at 8:30. Breakfast is spot on, fresh and filling. Perfect options depending on the days menu, eggs, fritattas, Quiche, muffins, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fresh juice and fruit, everything wonderful tasting. Crystal shared lots of information about the area and is very easy to talk to and spent time with us and other guests at breakfast sharing stories and just keeping it real. Very nice grounds off route 30, peaceful and if you like a little alone time in a hammock and I sure do, they've got one. Very accommodating and down to earth, can't wait to get back here. My wife and I recently moved to the Manchester VT area and we ordered takeout from the restaurant at the Inn at West View Farm for the first time last night. We got the seared rare salmon w/crispy rice, duck bao bun w/hoisin, pork dumplings, wonton soup and the dan dan pork lo mein. Ray Chen's farmhouse Asian cuisine is hands down the best Asian food that I've eaten in the U.S. and is on par or better than the best food that I've had in Asia (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan Din Tai Fung . I am blown away with the quality of his dishes. Please never leave Dorset Ray! 2 new lifelong customers :
We didn’t stay at the Inn (wish we had!! but a few local shops recommended the restaurant. And it was AMAZING!!! The food and the service are NYC worthy. Their Asian dishes knocked us out. Def a must-do in VT.
Wow! Everything we ordered was amazing. The pan fried chicken and mushroom dumplings were perfect. The dipping sauce was sweet but not too....Sesame chicken was by far the best and most unique. No idea what's in that dipping sauce, but I wanted to drink the leftover. For entrees we absolutely enjoyed all these. Sichuan Dan Dan pork loin mein, Beef and broccoli lo mein. Chicken and bok Choi with Hong Kong noodles. The portion sizes are plentiful. Really going to enjoy leftovers tomorrow. This place is a bases loaded home run. If you are yearning for real Chinese food without the msg and nasty cuts of questionable meat, you are going to love the meal chef Raymond prepares just for you.
We have been getting Chef Ray's Asian curbside for 2 weeks now. We were surprised that as great as it was week #1, it was even better week #2. Great ingredients, great flavors, great value. We'll be back next Thursday!
