J Mack Bbq

During the trip we wanted some BBQ so I looked online and found this place, it looked good and had good reviews. I also saw I'd have to get her early as she sells meat. I thought coming there before 12:00 was early enough, but they were already from chicken meat and brisket. Friendly and fast service! I got the pulled pork plate with chips and beans and my wife got the ribbed plate with chips and Cole Slav. The meat was quite average, not very hot, chips were good and so were the beans. My wife said the ribs were o.k., chips were good and the Cole Slav was just quite runny and tasteless. All in all, it hit the spot, but I would consider it pretty average.

I usually don't come to other reviews, but to people. Good grill, friendly staff, quick service, what else you might ask. If you read the reviews, then take my advice and go try to go back.

Traveling through. Best tasting fall off the bone ribs I?ve ever had. Server Catina was very helpful and super sweet. I wish I lived closer. Delicious Thank you The adorable little piggie decor is a perfect touch.

In Kentucky, as with every other southern state, each person has their favorite BBQ joint. J-Mack BBQ is not mine. But it does deserve an honorable mention. Everything they do, they do well, including the customer service which is friendly, warm, and personable. I've had a lot of BBQ nachos over the years, but J-Mack takes it to another level. They add slaw beans to the pile of chips, pulled pork, nacho cheese, bbq sauce, and jalapenos. They give you the option of having the nachos made with traditional tortilla chips or with the J-Mack chips, which are homemade waffle cut potato chips with a barbeque seasoning on them. The chips are great by themselves or as the foundation of nachos.

Great little BBQ place. We stopped in while traveling for dine in but they do take-out and catering as well. The food was pretty good over all. The ribs were juicy and tender. I didn't taste a lot of smoke but they had good flavor. The brisket was cut thick, with a defined smoke ring, good crust and very moist. The chicken was a little dry but it had good flavor and the rub on the outside was great. The pork was a little disappointing, as it was cold and did not have a defined flavor and was a little bland but adding their sauce worked great. The sauce was excellent and honestly will be great on anything you put it on. The coleslaw was good and complimented the meats well. The homemade chips were excellent and I ended up finishing the meal by putting their sauce on the chips. The biggest disappointment was the baked beans, seemed to come out of can, nothing special and Blah. Staff was great, service was good. portions and value for the dollar was good. Final thought: Get the ribs, Get the brisket, Get the cole slaw, chips and their sauce!!!! Definitely worth a visit.

Not bad BBQ. For something a little different I had the barbecued nachos with homemade potato chips that were well seasoned without being overly salty. Coleslaw was good, but the baked beans tasted no better than something from a can. I enjoyed it, but must comment that I found the pulled pork cooked way more than needed. Reminded me of chewing wet paper in texture rather than slow cooked meat. A simple clean interior with kind and thoughtful wait staff. Sometimes first impressions aren?t always the best so I definitely would give it another try.
