We went to Locale in Valentine’s Day. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. After a couple of minutes of just waiting, we were shown to our table by the window and given menus. While we were waiting up front there seemed to be lots of waiters running around, but very few seemed to actually make it into the dining area. After waiting for about ten minutes, we asked the only person who genuinely seemed to be working, the man filling glasses with water, to please fill our empty glasses and find us a waiter. After waiting for another five minutes we eventually got someone’s attention. He took our food and wine order. To be fair, all our food arrived quite quickly and was delicious. We finished our main course at around when our plates were cleared. We decided to wait to see how long it would take before someone came back to see if we wanted desert or coffee. At around we gave up and after searching for someone, anyone, we asked the water man to get the owner. He strolled over a few minutes later. We told him of our experience. He responded that the restaurant, which was now quite empty, was very busy and that he was doing his best. No apology. He did offer us desert not sure if we would have been charged for it though, but at that point we were so fed up we just asked for the bill. We passed him again on the way out...again, incredulously, no apology. Food was really good, but given the apathetic service, I couldn’t recommend Locale as a place to get a quick meal
