Schooner's Seafood House

The new England Chowder was delish, we shared the captains record for two, a lot of food.. small bland but good overall, drinks are simple and good.. very busy place, so we sat at the bar, overwhelmed barkeeper! But moved!

My husband and I visited this restorer for the first time and we were very impressed with the food, taste and portion sizes for the price. Customer service was also great. We're always planning to be vistors when we're in the area. Thank you for the great culinary experience.

decided to try Schooner on a whim. We sat and our wonderful server Patty came and took out drinks orders. When she returned with our drinks, she waited patiently for our questions... Then we took our orders. She brought our salads and a drink refill. When the food arrived, it was HOT! It was delicious! It was great portions... we didn't get hungry. Patty was great, food was great and when we return to the area, we definitely go back and ask for Patty.

First our server was very nice. But the food was just gross. We got the sweet potato casserole and it was cold. Fries were cold. I got fried scallops and they were hard. Hush puppies were ok and the peel and eat shrimp were ok. I don?t send food back because I?m not a crazy person. Sad that this place was so bad.

We waited over an hour to get seated, then another 10 mins for a server to come to say hello. She was busy at the table next to us talking about her last trip to Montana. Sounded amazing, I'm going to have to go there sometime. Meanwhile, the 6 of us are just sitting there getting older by the minute. The coleslaw came out first, and there was a lot of it!! I got the Broiled Trio dish, it was ok, but not great. The Broccoli Casserole was terrible, a few of us had it and nobody could stomach it. The hush puppies had a weird flavor. Once we got service, it was pretty good, part of that was due to the fact that the place was emptying out, apparently, they close at 8:30 pm on Saturdays, that's weird. The entire experience was sup-optimal and I was happy to leave. I don't expect to ever return. YMMV, good luck.

Good sized eatery was still packed with a Friday lunch crowd at 1:30, but after a brief wait I was seated and served promptly. My food came out hot and was good, although there is something to the reviews saying that their breading is light on taste. My shrimp weren't bad, but they needed the complimentary sauce to be complete. Everything else hit the mark for me.

I spotted no line outside, which is very rare, and immediately stopped in for dinner. My first time here. I had the 10 oz prime rib special topped with housemade onion rings, came with a salad and 2 sides. My child had the kids burger, side and a drink. House made key lime pie for dessert, super creamy. Excellent service and the staff was really friendly. A definite 'must stop here ' for dining out!
