A popular place for locals. Plus his favorite for hunters during the hunting season. Always good food and a spacious cozy dining area. They are specialized in Mexican foods such as Enchiladas, Tacos and Fajita Plates and have other articles, including steaks on the menu. The owner, Robert Gonzales, returned the state record to 1600m in 1967 and this record is still standing today. He is a great host and interesting to visit with how he makes the rounds around the tables. You won't eat wrong here!

Waitress was quick and friendly. I stayed for lunch and had beef fajita Nachos; they were delicious.
Had a ground meal, cheese enchiladas, and it was pretty good. My personal experience is 5/5, but my employee said that his steak was not good at all, so I have to take this into account. He had a few bites and left the rest. But the food was good for me, nice waiting staff, cheap.
I have read the reviews here on Google and decided that I would try a local food. I love Mom and Pop, and that's probably one of them. It's a place for yourself, so you just go in and find a table you like. The service was excellent, my tea glass was never empty. The owner of the facility saw that I was new in town and recommended a court to try for me, and I was not disappointed. You have very good Mexican food, I have to try something else, but I'm sure it's also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good comfort food.
Experience was sub par. Right away I ordered my dad a cup of coffee and they didn 't have any ready. This was around 3pm on a cold day. Then when I ordered my dad the carne guisada plate I was persuaded to order a plate that had a smaller portion of carne guisada due to the fact they didn 't want to run out. When the food finally arrived, the plate was beyond hot so much so that it was double plated and the rice was mush. All in all, never again.
Food was terrible and staff was fast but they got it all wrong and the place had 8 people so 3 out of 20 tables! And we were only 2 people and we only ordered one entree to split and they got it wrong and forgot the shrimp we ordered and the mushrooms and forgot to tell us they didn’t have any they just didn’t bring them out until we asked ??? Never offered to get us something else they did have ... and now some serious shade eat ANYWHERE else but here and I hope we don’t get sick on the way home!
Three of us went to eat there, and we all had different items from the menu. The tea was terrible, nachos were burnt beyond recognition, sandwich singles for cheese on every plate. Rice appeared to be tapioca pudding with spices added, and the soft taco was hard as a rock. The food was, to say least, terrible. Service was almost non-existent, even when it came time to take money. The establishment was clean and had a great feel to it but I will not be returning for the ambiance.
Terrible!!!!! Service was alright. Rice was smoosh no desernable grains, beans didnt smell like beans, taco was too greasy, felt like vomiting the whole way back to corpus. Inside is nice a quaint though. 10/10 would not reccomend.
