On the way through the city, and glad that we are! Big grill! Try the brisket burrito or sandwich with Coleslaw on it! They will not be sad, he said he smokes it for 20 hours and it shows. Chicken sandwich is excellent, very delicate! Owners are very friendly and gracious people! Picnic table in front you can enjoy your food. Super convenient to grab when you gasse, right around the corner from the Almo petrol station.

On the way back from the fire valley. Ran in this BBQ trailer and be honest It was very good. People where very friendly and you can say that food came from the heart.
We starved when we discovered ZZQ Barbecue on our journey through the desert on the US-3380. The owner is super friendly and the BBQ food is just delicious. Definitely worth a stop!
Place is amazing, I have the bride and pulled pig slaughters. As a Kansas boy, I have quite good standards for BBQ. I wasn't disappointed. I'm back, maybe with a truck buddy or two. Next time. Glowstick check out.
Looks like they are open again! This place is the #1 reason to stop in Carizozo, and I'll admit, I'll skip lunch in Ruidoso if I'm passing this way. Everything in the menu is great, and the owner is extremely nice. The only downside is they don't have indoor dining, but I guarantee the savings get passed on to you.
Good fast and tasty, easy to get and get going. The burrito was just right, not too much sauce. Maybe an offering of a bit of slaw would taste better than the bit of cheese? Just a foodie thought, let me know what you think. I really appreciate you being there when we had become well and completely tired of other road food and cafe boredom. 3/16/21 update best damn BBQ for sure and that slaw is great with the brisket. Glad to see you here again. Hope to be here in less than a year.
Stopped by this lovely BBQ stop on our way to Flagstaff. Great service and the best pulled pork and brisket sandwhiches we've ever had! Highly reccomend!!
After driving through carrizozo over 100+ times on my way to texas, I decided to stop in and try it. The brisket burrito was some of the best bbq I’ve ever had, and I live in Texas so that’s says a lot. The sauce was outstanding as well as the potato salad. It was very unique with chunks of smoked brisket inside, needless to say I will be coming back!
