One of the capitals in the tiny Waikola Village, right on the edge of a golf course, is one of the outlets of Lava Java. With a bakery on site everything is freshly prepared and the customer base can never be disappointed. With such a secret feeling that it increases the appeal, it was quite clear that this was a goal for the five of us to visit. For one of the nights to actually go to eat, this was convenient near where the accusation was. That's what I'm talking about. In addition, we were nearby in a different place that was in Kona, but went elsewhere. Also, it was said to be good, could be done on the cheap, and was close. So it was here with a good walk there and back to have a meal. Our waitress for this night, Jamie, was very good. It was a pretty quiet night, so maybe it was a case of necessity, but that still does not reduce the quality of its service. She was very attentive, really chatting and personable woman. It was at this right level where she could see the right time for attention, and it was all done in a relaxed way. Late in the night or near closing time, at least it must have been a bit more effort, but with great customer skills, I will definitely praise them for their delivery. Let's be honest about the attitude. I think it's nice to sit in fresh farm air, and the location is pretty good. However, there is not so much too inside or outside really. They have borrowed what seems to be an old building, and it is more or less renovated to meet a walk in the order area. For the seat, it's all on the concrete outside. It is not so much from the view of things. But you can't have everything all the time and it will do for what it is. The menu at lunch and dinner is a small one. It is usually a series of sandwiches, pizzas and salads. Nothing too complicated or extensive here, and there was a small but seperate section to present the fish of the day. From what I can remember, unlike the other place, this is directly withdrawn with what it offers. In fact, when it comes to drinks that section is likely larger, and that is without consulting the wine list. Without mentioning too much coffee features quite a bit during the selection. There are various types of special coffees that are espresso-based coffees, chai lattes, hot milk and hot chocolates. Next are milkshakes, ice cream and smoothies, followed by a Kona or World Brew coffee (either that can be hot or icey, then teas, fruit juices and smoothies, and a whole lot of fringes. I could imagine people coming here, just for the drinks, it has enough to do. Even if we had no breakfast there, it is still fair to talk about the breakfast menu. Similar to the other two meals of the day, this is still quite simple. You have many egg-based options (i.e. the Bennedict, the omelets and the eggs your way, some pancakes and waffles, then a number of healthier decisions Granola, Yoghurt, Bagels et al. Last but not least is the dessert menu. It is a selection of several of the most popular classics from all over the world, generous and honestly served. Basically, with this and all other menu sections, it's great for a relaxed meal, maybe meeting with someone or for the family, just nothing for everything really flash. For me I went with a version of her original Sunset Burger. This was essentially the basic hamburger, with the patty, salad, tomatoes and onion, plus aioli to complete it. As an extra a few options were given to supplement the burger. I went for the choice of bacon and cheese as if I really wanted to take another option. For the given choice of the site I went with sweet potatoes. That was a really solid, if humble, Burger. What I liked most was how sharp the bacon was, and I often try to ask my to be very crispy. The cheese was tasty, with some bite, and the salad was fresh and decent again. The beef was tender and juicy, and I ordered it rarely cooked. Overall, the components combed together nicely and it was a big festival. On the side they went really generous with serving sweet potatories, the tasty and pretty sweet the composition was similar, but had distinct differences of the regular pumices. One of my parents went to the Big W fish sandwich. I forget what the catch of the day was, but whatever it was, it was served with avocado, tomato, rocket and a tomato-based jam. On the page they have regular pommes. These frits were thinly cut, shoe strings fries and were the perfectly acceptable kind. Crispy, slightly salted and another generous part on the side were just as good. Heck, when I nodded a few, I put the regular and sweet potato fries on my burger (Have I ever mentioned that I do? Long since childhood, dear readers. The fish on the burger was tender, soft and had a taste between mild and fishy. That was just as good as my burger. It escapes me what it was, but I went for a cup of World Brew coffee. From what I remember, it was a better coffee brew than before. It was done at a pleasant temperature, this brew was good enough that I got another cup, or was it to sneak in dessert? I'll go with them. Because I managed to justify Dessert. What it ended was the chocolate Decadence Cake, a dark chocolate cake that was layered with piles of Ganache. Maybe not too decadent, this was still a pleasant end of the meal. The size of the cake was generous and massive, it was soft and crumbling with lots of chocolate flavor everywhere. The Ganache part was just the right consistency not super rich as it can be, and you could definitely say it was there. It was a pleasant end of the meal. Lava Java is this type of place that will certainly praise the effort and quality of food. It is nothing really excellent to eat in the sea of places, with more or less the whole, domestic food. It is better than the simple exterior could indicate it (many times in the past I have found that the aspect is the only weak point in one place, so it escapes from me with a 4 points.
